Biodigesters FAQs
How is a biodigester different from a septic tank?
A biodigester actively breaks down waste biologically, so it fills far slower and discharges treated water to a soakaway. It generally needs less exhausting than a septic tank.
Will it smell?
A correctly installed biodigester is vented and largely odour-free at ground level. We will explain the venting layout at the site visit.
What size do I need?
Sizing is based on the number of users and bathrooms. We size it at the site visit — a four-bedroom home needs a much smaller unit than a school.
